The Disney Dining Plan is back and creating quite a buzz! Whether you’re a frequent flyer or making your first trip, it’s a sweet deal for anyone visiting Walt Disney World. This guide breaks down what you need to know about the revamped plan.
So, what exactly is the Disney Dining Plan?
It’s a prepaid meal package for guests staying at specific Walt Disney World Resort hotels. With this plan, you can enjoy meals, snacks, and drinks at various spots across the parks and resorts, which means no more worrying about your food budget during your trip.
Disney offers two types of dining plans:
Quick-Service Dining Plan:
– Two quick-service meals each night of your stay.
– One snack or non-alcoholic drink per night.
– A refillable mug for unlimited soda, coffee, and tea refills at your resort.
Dining Plan:
– One quick-service meal each night.
– One table-service meal per night (including character dining).
– One snack or non-alcoholic drink per night.
– A refillable mug.
How does it work?
When you buy a dining plan or get it FREE with available packages, your meal and snack credits are added to your MagicBand or MagicMobile. The right amount is deducted from your account each time you eat. You can use as many credits as you want in a single day. Any unused credits roll over daily, but you must use them by midnight on your checkout day.
To get the most out of your dining plan, plan ahead!
Booking Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) for table-service meals is key, especially for popular spots like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest, which fill up fast. Reservations are available 60 days in advance, so keep that in mind.
Also, know what counts as a snack! Look for the purple “snack” symbol on menus. To make your snack credits go further, opt for unique treats like Dole Whip or Mickey Pretzels. You can mix and match your meal credits, too. Feel free to use quick-service credits for breakfast and save table-service credits for nicer dinners.
Don’t forget to make the most of your refillable mug!
Grab coffee in the morning and soda in the evening. Remember, you can only refill these at resort beverage stations, not in the parks.
Pro Tips:
Sharing meals can stretch your credits a bit since portion sizes at Disney are usually generous. Character dining is a fun way to meet characters without long lines, so use your table-service credits for those experiences.
There are some ups and downs to the dining plan. Plus, it’s super convenient—no need to carry cash or stress over food costs. You have tons of dining options, from quick bites to fancy meals. On the downside, not every meal is included so that you might incur some extra expenses, and you’ll need to plan your credits carefully to get the best value.
So, is the Disney Dining Plan right for you? It could be a great fit if you like to have meals prepaid and want to indulge in table-service and character dining. However, it might not be the best option if you eat light or prefer dining off-property.
The Disney Dining Plan adds extra magic to your trip, letting you focus on the fun instead of the details. With some planning and knowledge, you’ll enjoy all the tasty offerings like a pro, whether it’s a fun treat or a signature dining experience.
